About Us

"At Boston DREAM Academy, we have intentionally created an environment where each student feels valued, loved and affirmed."

– Opal Williams, Co-Founder

Brief School History

Boston DREAM Academy was birthed through the conviction, vision, and effort of dedicated parents, church members and area pastors of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the fall of 2013.

These founders shared the common goal of creating an outstanding, Christ-centered, college preparatory high school. They wanted a school within metropolitan Boston where young people from diverse backgrounds would be welcomed, challenged and inspired to accomplish their academic potential and to pursue God’s purpose for their lives.

Students would be prepared through a rigorous academic curriculum, enriched with extracurricular activities, within a supportive, collaborative environment. This would be a school where all students are loved and affirmed; and teachers and facilitators are decidedly intentional regarding the success of each student. A school where graduates are known not only for their intellectual ability, but for their integrity, self-discipline, high moral value and their commitment to social justice and equality. A school where students will demonstrate compassion and kindness to everyone they come in contact with.

Our Vision

A mobilized generation of youth who represent truth, justice, honor and mercy in the world.

Our Mission

To nurture the intellectual curiosity of High School students and to cultivate their dedication to service through a rigorous college preparatory curriculum within a supportive, collaborative community.

To help each student develop a richer, personal relationship with Christ and to deepen their faith, commitment and practice.

Our school is guided by people fully invested in the vision of the school. The success of each student is at the heart of every decision made. Board members include community members, parents, pastors, healthcare professionals, educators and business leaders located in Boston and throughout the country.

Principal's Message

Hello and a Warm Welcome to Boston DREAM Academy!

At Boston DREAM Academy, we are deeply committed to creating a nurturing, Christ-centered environment where students in grades 7 through 12 can thrive. Our mission is to nurture our students’ intellectual curiosity while guiding them to develop a personal relationship with Christ, that deepens their faith, commitment, and practice.

As the principal, I am honored to lead a community where faith and learning are intricately woven together. We believe every child is uniquely gifted by God, and we tailor our approach to meet individual needs while promoting academic excellence and service. Through a rigorous college-prep curriculum, including the arts and community service, we aim to develop well-rounded, confident youth who think critically, act justly, and live with integrity.

We highly value the partnership between school, home, and church. Open communication and active parental involvement are key to our students’ success, and we cherish the supportive and caring environment this creates.

Our Faith

“And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God.” Micah 6:8

The founders of the Boston DREAM Academy have their faith rooted in Seventh-day Adventist Christianity, a church well known for its excellence in healthcare, education, and human service activities.  For this reason, the principals of Christianity are infused throughout our curriculum and approach to education.

Central to the Christian faith is instruction from Jesus to ‘love one another, as I have loved you.’  Our goal is to recognize each student as being of inestimable value and to love them to success.  To love someone is to recognize their value.  To love someone is to truly see them; acknowledge their worth; appreciate them for who they are.   To love someone is to strive to bring out their best and help them accomplish their dreams.

Is BDA a Seventh-day Adventist school?

BDA is an independent, self-supporting Christian school with a mission to bring out the best in each of our students and to prepare them for a life of leadership, purpose, excellence and service in this world and for the greater joy and wider service in the world to come. BDA was founded by committed Christians who are members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and who fully embraces the global mission of the SDA Church.

We welcome individuals from all backgrounds who are committed to outstanding academics, character development, and social justice. Our Christian values are demonstrated through our belief that each student is of inestimable value to God, created for big things!

Does my family have to be Christian or Adventist for my child to attend?

BDA welcomes all students regardless of their personal beliefs, creating a safe space for them to learn.  While we are unapologetically Christian, our core purpose is to equip each student with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to live life with fulfillment and purpose.

Will my children have to participate in prayer and religion classes?

Religion classes are core subjects at BDA.  Students will learn about contemporary issues from both a Biblical and Historic prospective. and discuss how they impact current affairs.  They learn about the Bible and its relevance in the world today.

Participating in prayer is always a choice, however students are expected to be respectful during times of prayer.  Prayer is used to begin and finish each day before meals and prior to exams and sporting events.  We will pray with students before leaving campus for field trips or extended excursions as well, believing in the power of prayer to protect and guide us.
